Snacks
The Nursery provides snacks and this is charge at 40p per session (there is NO charge for snack during ‘funded’ sessions). The Nursery recognises the importance of diet and exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle and therefore all snacks provided will be healthy. A choice of milk or water will be provided. Dietary needs will be taken into consideration.
Meals
Parents/Carers must provide a packed lunch if your child is attending a morning session or all day. Parents are encouraged to provide meals which don’t require to be heated (although food for babies can be heated). No fizzy drinks or sweets please.
Activities
Children are able to participate in a range of activities such as arts and crafts, sand and water play, imaginative play, music, singing, stories, garden and outdoor play and general learning. The garden is situated at the rear of the building and offers a safe space for children to play. Access is gained directly from the nursery play rooms.
Policies
Stepping Stones Nursery has developed a range of policies and procedures to ensure we provide a safe, secure environment and equal opportunities for all families and staff. A list of policies are on display in the Cloakroom entrance to the Nursery. If you wish to see any of these, please feel free to ask a member of staff.
Comments
Stepping Stones operate an open door policy which allows parents to visit the nursery at any time to see what’s going on. Staff will observe the development of each child and keep parents informed through development profiles, notice boards and conversations.
Stepping Stones will actively seek feedback from all users in order to continually improve the service provided.
Nursery staff are always available at the start and end of each nursery session should you have any questions/worries or even if you would like to inform us of any news about your child. We can also make a mutually convenient appointment to meet at another time.
The Care Commission carry out inspections of the nursery to ensure Stepping Stones Nursery is providing a safe and suitable environment for children. Inspection Reports will be made available within the nursery for parents/carers to view at any time and these are also available via the Care Commission website.
